1. Choose model — short-sleeve bodysuit (summer and birth), long-sleeve bodysuit (transition and winter), baby vest (sleeveless) or kids tee (from 6 months). Filterable by size (newborn to 24 months) and organic certification.
2. Upload or design artwork — vector file for crisp lettering and logos, high-resolution pixel file for photographic motifs. Date of birth, given name, "big brother" wording or your own illustration.
3. Choose print method — digital print (DTG) for soft organic-cotton bodysuits, DTF for multi-colour artwork on coloured fabric, flex or transfer print for individual names.
4. Order and decorate — we check the file, print on the front (or optionally the back), wash and ship in 7–10 working days. Express shipping for birth gifts on request.

For very small runs (a single gift, three godchild bodysuits) the direct configurator is the fastest route. From 30 pieces upward (nursery, family reunion, club family day) the bulk-order inquiry makes sense — we calculate across multiple models with the quantity discount staircase and advise on packaging and shipping options.

Skin-friendly print methods — what touches the baby?

Baby skin reacts sensitively to abrasive print layers. For that reason we distinguish very carefully which method we recommend for baby bodysuits — and which one we deliberately leave out.

• Digital print (DTG) — our clear recommendation no. 1 for baby bodysuits. The ink is printed directly into the cotton fibres, the hand stays almost unchanged and soft, the motif can be designed as photographically detailed as you wish. Requirement: a light bodysuit (white, natural, pastel). Economical from one piece, perfect for individual gifts.
• DTF print — second choice for multi-colour motifs on coloured fabric (indigo bodysuit with white date of birth, anthracite bodysuit with multi-colour illustration). The DTF film is noticeably softer than classic plastisol screen print and is cleared for baby bodysuits.
• Flex print — for individual names, dates of birth and simple lettering. The flex film is applied thermally and survives hundreds of washes. Ideal for "Lina, born 14.06.2026" bodysuits in run sizes of 1–10.
• Transfer print — for small detail motifs with colour gradient that may be removable (for example hospital outfits that change frequently). Low-temperature film due to sensitive materials.
• Plastisol screen print is something we deliberately do not use on baby bodysuits. The print layer is too hard, abrades during crawling movement and does not meet our own skin-friendliness standard. For high-volume adult promotional shirts plastisol remains standard, but not for babies.

• Mantis Kids M11 Kids T-Shirt — the transition from bodysuit to classic kids tee. Available from 6 months onward. Organic cotton, GOTS-oriented Inspire line, modern cut. Ideal for the first family photo shoots from 6 months upward.
• Stedman ST2200 Classic-T Kids — the Stedman kids standard, plain cut, many colours. From size 80 cm (12–18 months). Ideal for sibling sets where an older sibling should receive the same artwork.

For family sets with matching parent t-shirts, combine the baby bodysuit with a Stanley/Stella STTU755 or a Mantis Inspire-T for the parents. OEKO-TEX, organic cotton and GOTS — what does that mean?

For baby textiles the fabric certification is not a marketing detail but a safety factor. We explain the three most common terms in practical language:

• OEKO-TEX Standard 100 — a harmful-substance test of the finished textile. All our baby bodysuits (Babybugz, Larkwood, Mantis Kids, Stedman) are certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100, product class 1 (infants and toddlers up to 36 months) — the strictest category for skin contact.
• Organic cotton — cultivation without synthetic pesticides and fertilisers. Babybugz BZ10 and BZ12 are 100 % organic cotton, as is the Mantis Inspire line. Stedman and Larkwood use conventional cotton in OEKO-TEX quality.
• GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) — goes beyond pure harmful-substance testing and audits the supply chain (social standards, water consumption, chemistry). Mantis M11 is GOTS-oriented; a dedicated GOTS certification per item is shown on request on the product detail page.

For families with a sustainability-first approach to gifting we recommend the Babybugz BZ10 or BZ12 in organic-cotton quality with digital print — that is the most skin-friendly and most ecologically clean combination in our range.

Quantity discount staircase and pricing

Baby-bodysuit orders range from a single birth gift to several hundred pieces for a parent initiative, a club family day or a nursery campaign. We calculate transparently and apply the staircase across models, including family sets (parent t-shirts + baby bodysuit).

The live pricing in the configurator applies the staircase automatically — you see the final per-piece price before ordering. For multiple models in one order (e.g. 4 BZ10 short-sleeve bodysuits + 4 BZ12 long-sleeve bodysuits + 2 parent t-shirts = 10 pieces) the staircase is calculated across all models — you do not need to reach the 10-piece threshold per model but in total.

Occasions — what we print baby bodysuits for

Baby bodysuits are the most emotional gift textile in the range. We decorate bodysuits primarily for the following occasions:

• Birth gift — a single gift with personal name, date of birth and a loving illustration. Express shipping on request, often as a last-minute gift before the hospital visit.
• Godchild outfit — godfathers and godmothers order 1–3 coordinated bodysuits (BZ10 summer, BZ12 winter, Larkwood LW055 vest) with initials or godparent reference.
• Baby-shower crawl photo — bachelorette-party groups sometimes produce a single bodysuit with a desired statement motif (humorous, tastefully worded) as a symbolic gift for the mother-to-be. Please keep the wording tasteful.

Care and durability of printed baby bodysuits

Printed baby bodysuits keep the print quality across many washes if you follow a few basic rules. A full care guide is available in our care advisory section (German-only at this point).

• Wash at 30–40 °C turned inside out — that is standard for baby laundry and at the same time gentle on the print. Avoid aggressive heavy-duty detergents with optical brighteners.
• No concentrated fabric softener on the print area, as it can loosen the ink bonding. Babies often react sensitively to softener anyway — so a double reason to dose sparingly.
• Do not iron directly on the print — turn the bodysuit inside out and iron at medium temperature. Steam ironing is unproblematic.
• Tumble-dryer compatibility — digital print and DTF survive the tumble dryer at medium temperature, although we recommend line-drying for fine print motifs.
• Service life — under standard washing conditions the print motifs last longer than the wearing time of the bodysuit in a given size (bodysuits are usually retired after 3–6 months of wear for size reasons).
