Heavy Cotton 5000
The classic and our most-stocked Gildan shirt of all: Fabric weight 180 g/m² (white 170 g/m²), open-end yarn, shoulder-to-shoulder taping, double needle sleeves and hem, tubular without side seams. Standard colours are 100 % cotton, heather and speciality shades contain polyester. With 55 colours and S to 5XL it covers almost every club and promo need; white and natural cost €3.13, the standard colours €3.87 (net).
Softstyle 64000
The light counterpart: 153 g/m² (white 144 g/m²), ring-spun pre-shrunk jersey — noticeably softer and thinner than the 5000, but not quite as opaque. With 60 shades it has the widest colour choice in the Gildan range and is the only adult model that starts at XS and runs to 5XL. White costs €2.75, standard colours €3.50 (net).
Softstyle Midweight 12009
The middle ground between the two: 183 g/m² (white 180 g/m²), 100 % ring-spun cotton with a high stitch density and a ribbed crew neck. The difference to the 64000 is exactly that density — the same soft ring-spun look, but a fabric that lets less print colour show through. 22 colours, S to 5XL, white €3.65, coloured €4.42 (net).
Softstyle Women's 13109
The same Softstyle quality as the 64000 — 153 g/m², ring-spun jersey — only cut tailored, with side seams and a narrow rib at the crew neck. If you mix women's and unisex shirts in one order, 64000 and 13109 give you the same handfeel and the same price step: white €2.75, coloured €3.50 (net). Sizes S to 3XL, 27 colours.
Softstyle Youth 64000B
The kids' version of the 64000 with the same 153 g/m² and the same ring-spun cotton (sport grey 90 % cotton / 10 % polyester). Sizes are labelled twice — by body height and by age, from XS (104/110) to XL (164/176). 22 colours, white €2.51, coloured €3.35 (net).
Ultra Cotton Long Sleeve 17109
The long-sleeve classic in the Gildan range: 203 g/m² (white 193 g/m²), 100 % cotton (ash 99/1, sport grey 90/10, dark heather as well as safety green and safety orange 50/50), ribbed cuffs, shoulder-to-shoulder taping, tubular. 20 colours, S to 5XL, white €7.88, coloured €10.08 (net).
Which finishing fits Gildan T-Shirts?
The choice comes down to the yarn. The Heavy Cotton 5000 and the Ultra Cotton 17109 are open-end and heavier — screen printing (from 50 pieces) covers best on them and is cheapest from medium runs upwards. The ring-spun Softstyle models 64000, 12009, 13109 and 64000B have a smoother surface; here DTF printing and digital print deliver finer gradients and sharp edges even on small type.
On the light 153 g/m² shirts (64000, 13109, 64000B), watch the opacity: on dark colours, light artwork needs an underbase, otherwise the fabric shows through. For large print areas the denser 12009 is the safer bet. Embroidery works on every model, but on the 153 g/m² shirts only with a stabiliser.
