Embroider & print softshell jackets — for companies, events and outdoor crews

Direct-Answer: Print or embroider softshell jackets at ShirtStore from 1 piece. We finish Regatta TRA688 Octagon II, TRA642 Uproar and TRA628 Ablaze Printable, StormTech KS-3 Greenwich, James & Nicholson JN1135, Result R118A and B&C ID.701 with membrane-safe embroidery, DTF print or low-temp transfer print (≤130 °C). Water column 5,000–10,000 mm, MVTR 2,000–5,000 g/m²/24h. Volume discount 3% to 32%, delivery 5–10 working days DE.

You're looking for softshell jackets with a company logo — for the field service of your plumbing business, for the crew of your festival agency, for the surveying team of your civil engineering office, for the open-air conference team of your SaaS startup, or for your club's next training day? Softshell is the ideal mid-layer for transitional weather, wind and light rain: breathable enough for movement, robust enough for warehouse and construction site, presentable enough for customer contact. ShirtStore embroiders and prints softshell jackets from 1 piece in our facility in Berlin — with membrane-safe techniques that preserve function and with volume discounts up to 32% for club, company and event rollouts.

How to design your softshell jacket

    1. Choose the model — Regatta TRA688 Octagon II (3-layer classic), TRA628 Ablaze Printable (print-optimised), StormTech KS-3 Greenwich (premium performance), Result Softshell Gilet R238X or women's variant. Filterable by brand, water column and colour palette.
    2. Specify the quantity — from 1 piece, volume discount from 3 pieces (3%), best terms from 100 pieces (25%) and 500 pieces (32%).
    3. Upload or design your logo — vector (SVG, AI, EPS) preferred for embroidery; for DTF print, a 300-dpi PNG with transparent background is sufficient.
    4. Choose the finishing — embroidery (chest left, chest right, back), DTF print for detailed multi-colour logos, transfer print with low-temp foil for large back prints.
    5. Order and have it finished — file check, print release via email or web mock-up, production. 5–10 working days delivery DE.

Not sure whether embroidery or print suits your logo and model best? Send us your logo, the model and the quantity by email or via the advice form. We reply within 24 hours with a technique recommendation and a live per-piece price.

Material properties: what softshell actually is

Softshell is a collective term for functional 2- to 3-layer fabrics that manage wind, light rain and sweat moisture. The typical construction is an outer layer of tightly woven polyester, a water-repellent and windproof membrane (PU or TPU) and a brushed polyester inner lining that adds warmth and wicks moisture outward.

Property Mid-Range (Result, J&N) Premium (Regatta, StormTech, B&C)
Water column 3,000–5,000 mm 5,000–10,000 mm
    MVTR (breathability) 1,500–3,000 g/m²/24h 3,000–5,000 g/m²/24h
    Fabric weight 260–290 g/m² 290–340 g/m²
    Stretch 2-way (10–15%) 4-way (15–25%)
    Wind resistance wind-repellent windproof (100%)
Standard use warehouse, construction mid-layer field service, outdoor, customer contact

Water column measures how much water pressure the fabric withstands before water penetrates. 5,000 mm is enough for light to medium rain over several hours. MVTR (Moisture Vapor Transmission Rate) measures how much water vapour escapes through the fabric per square metre per 24 hours. 3,000 g/m²/24h is solid for field service and site management; from 5,000 g/m²/24h noticeably more breathable for movement-intensive use such as surveying, forestry inspection or marathon marshalling.

Softshell does not replace a full hardshell rain jacket (3-layer membrane, ≥10,000 mm water column, taped seams). For sustained rain use we recommend a hardshell model such as the Regatta TRW461 Ardmore in parallel — embroidery and print there are however only limited (membrane puncture risk).

Finishing techniques — what suits softshell?

The membrane is the most sensitive component. It must not be punctured (embroidery in the wrong position), heated above 130 °C (standard transfer print) or treated with aggressive solvents. Four techniques are in our range:

    • EmbroideryRecommendation No. 1 for softshell with classic company logos. We use a dense backing that protects the membrane and a fine 40-weight Madeira thread that delivers clean contours. Chest logo left up to 8 × 6 cm, back logo up to 15 × 10 cm. With correct stitch position no membrane damage. Withstands 50+ washes at 30 °C.
    • DTF print — Best choice for detailed or multi-colour logos. The DTF film is transferred at low temperature (110–125 °C); the membrane stays intact. Chest logo up to 12 × 12 cm, back logo up to A4. Multi-colour gradient logos, photo logos and fine fonts — all possible. Ideal for event crews, SaaS logos with gradient, club logos with crest detail.
    • Transfer print with low-temp foil — Useful for large back or chest prints on premium softshell (Regatta TRA628 Ablaze Printable is explicitly print-optimised). Heat-press at maximum 130 °C, membrane stays protected. Standard foil transfer print without a low-temp variant damages the membrane — do not book.
    • Flex print — Possible for single-colour logos and lettering. Low-temp flex foil (110–120 °C), fast production from 1 piece, robust wash durability. Useful on stretch softshell, since flex follows the 4-way stretch movement.

What we don't recommend: Classic screen printing (drying temperature 160 °C destroys the membrane), sublimation print (only works on light polyester without membrane), plastisol print (too rigid on softshell stretch).

Standard recommendation in the configurator: embroidery for chest logos up to 8 cm, DTF for detailed logos and back prints, low-temp transfer for very large back areas with plain-colour logos.

Model recommendations by industry and use

We carry over 40 softshell models, grouped by use profile and brand identity. The following selection covers 90% of typical B2B orders.

Colours black, navy, anthracite. Sizes XS–4XL. Embroidery shines on the smooth chest front. For trade businesses, plumbing field service, electrical companies.
    • Regatta TRA642 Uproar Softshell — slightly lighter variant (280 g/m²), for the transitional season in field service. Chest zip pocket, removable hood on some configurations. Also available in women's cuts.
    • Result R238X Black Compass Padded Softshell Gilet — sleeveless bodywarmer, 320 g/m². Ideal for warehouse logistics worn over a workwear polo in the half-year transition. Padded, light winter capability.

    Field service and customer-facing crews

    • StormTech KS-3 Greenwich Softshell — premium performance model. H2X-DRY polyester outer fabric, H2XSTRETCH 4-way stretch membrane, Thermal Tech inner lining. Event crews and festival marshals

IT, tech conference and premium sales

    • StormTech KS-3 Greenwich with discreetly embroidered brand monogram on the chest — for conference hospitality and Cloud/SaaS crews. High material premium look, avoids the "promo jacket" impression.

    Caring for printed softshell jackets

    • Wash at maximum 30 °C in the gentle programme
    • No fabric softener — destroys DWR impregnation and membrane breathability
    • No tumble dryer — membrane and transfer print suffer at drying heat above 60 °C. Dry lying flat or hanging in the air.
    • Renew impregnation every 12–18 months with a DWR spray (Nikwax, Grangers or brand equivalent). We recommend 2–3 washes before renewing impregnation, so the spray adheres to a cleaned outer surface.
    • Ironing — do not iron embroidery and DTF print directly. If necessary, iron from the reverse side with a cotton cloth at low heat.

With correct care, embroidery and DTF print last at least 50 washes. Low-temp transfer print lasts 30–40 washes — usually sufficient for large sponsor prints on event jackets.
