How to design your embroidered towels
- Choose the model — Towelcity TC03 guest and hand towel (50 × 90 cm), TC04 bath towel (70 × 140 cm), sauna towel (80 × 200 cm), bathrobe in women's and men's cut. Jassz Towels range in 350, 400 or 550 g/m². Colours white, anthracite, navy, subtle pastel tones.
- Set the weight class — 350 g/m² (light, economical for promotional gift and sports hand towel), 450 g/m² (hotel standard for bath and floor), 550–600 g/m² (premium wellness and spa).
- Upload logo — vector (SVG, AI, EPS) preferred for embroidery with fine contours. 300-dpi PNG for DTF print (only on smooth terry border area, not on loops).
- Choose embroidery position — standard is the lower towel corner or the bathrobe chest position. Multiple positions per order possible.
- Specify quantity and order — from 1 piece, volume discount from 3 pieces. 5–10 working days lead time DE from print release.

Towel models and weight classes
Terry quality determines hand feel, wash durability and premium look. Three weight classes cover the entire need.

350 g/m² terry is the economical choice for promotional gifts, sports hand towels and one-off club occasions. Quick-drying and light, less premium look.
450 g/m² is the hotel standard — most 3- and 4-star hotels use this weight class for bath and floor. Solid terry, about 800 industrial washes lifespan.
550–600 g/m² premium terry is the choice for wellness studios, spa resorts, 5-star hotels and premium bathrobes. Dense loops, excellent absorption, soft hand feel. Processing and embroidery are more demanding but the end result is significantly higher-quality.
Embroidery vs. print on terry — why embroidery dominates
Terry consists of thousands of small polyester or cotton loops that stand up from the base weave. These loops are exactly what makes terry absorbent — and at the same time the reason why print techniques fail.
- Embroidery — The only sensible finishing for terry. The embroidery locks between the loops, forms a firm logo surface that survives washing and drying unchanged. We use Madeira industrial thread that is specifically certified for hotel-laundry conditions — polyester thread with chlorine resistance that survives 95 °C hygiene wash and industrial bleach. Logo size: up to 12 × 12 cm on the towel corner, up to 15 × 10 cm on the bathrobe chest.
- Print techniques in general — Classic screen, transfer, DTF or flex print adheres poorly on terry loops. Even if the logo is optically there after pressing, it detaches after 5–10 hotel washes. We do not recommend print for terry.
- Transfer print on smooth hem area — A very limited exception: if your towel has a smooth woven hem area (border), we can place a small logo print there via low-temp transfer print. Lifespan still less than embroidery. Useful only in rare special cases.
Rule of thumb: With terry, always embroidery with industrial thread. For hand towels in hotel laundry (60–95 °C) there is no sensible alternative.
Hotel-laundry suitability
Hotel laundries work with significantly more aggressive conditions than household washes:
- Temperature 60 °C standard, 95 °C for hygiene needs
- Wash bleach (oxygen bleach or chlorine bleach)
- Mechanics in industrial drum machines with high spin speed
- Wash frequency often daily for bath towels
- Dryer at 60–80 °C in industrial dryers
Madeira industrial thread embroidery is explicitly certified for these conditions. The polyester thread fibres withstand chlorine bleach, do not lose their colour and retain their shape with repeated drum drying. A hotel-towel embroidery typically survives 200–500 industrial washes — longer than the terry material itself, which is replaced after 800–1,200 washes.
We explicitly recommend white or tone-on-tone embroidered logos when chlorine bleach is used — coloured pigment embroidery can fade slightly after several hundred washes. With oxygen bleach (today standard in most hotel laundries) coloured logos are unproblematic.

Hotel bath and floor

Wellness, spa and premium hotel
- Premium bathrobe in 350–400 g/m² terry or velour terry, women's and men's cut. Embroidery left on the chest (12 × 8 cm logo) or centrally on the back (15 × 10 cm).
- Sauna towel (80 × 200 cm) in 550–600 g/m² premium terry — high-quality embroidery in one corner or along a seam line, often combined with wellness-resort word mark.
- Wellness hand towel (50 × 100 cm) in subtle pastel tones — calming look, matching spa-resort branding.
Sports club and swimming pool
- Sports hand towel (30 × 100 cm) in 350 g/m² terry with club-crest embroidery. Classic gift for club members or function towel for training bag.
- Pool hand towel (50 × 100 cm) in chlorine-resistant 400 g/m² terry — specifically for swimming-pool staff embroidered with chlorine-resistant Madeira thread.
Promotional gift and club anniversary
- Hand towel (50 × 90 cm) in 350 g/m² terry in club colour (navy, burgundy, anthracite) with embroidered club initial or anniversary print. Economical even with small runs (5–50 pieces).
- Mini sauna towel (60 × 130 cm) as premium promotional gift for customer gift campaigns.
